Oh Hollywood. Why do you do this to me? Yes, I am starting to feel like it's personal now.

A few days ago, a 15-second video emerged online. It shows producer Michael Bay standing before an audience in a suit, discussing his plans for a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman of Wrath of the Titans fame, with such a dearth of enthusiasm that you could quite easily mistake him for a printer toner spokesman at a regional office supplies conference.

In the video, Bay says: "Kids are going to believe one day that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable." Rest of the article here

My initial reaction...

The Internet's reaction...

The rest of my emotions, as ever, in GIF form. )

Stop ruining all my childhood stuff! IT'S NOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL STORY WAS CONFUSING IN THE FIRST PLACE!

This post has made me realise I really need a gif of Arnav going "What the f-" XD It's always so hilarious.

BATMAN FRANCHISE IS GOING TO BE REBOOTED AFTER 3RD FILM?!

While I may not agree with Marvel's decision to keep rebooting X-Men forever and ever, at least Fox is doing it because their license will run out if they don't keep making films. Warner Brothers owns DC Comics! The license will not run out! Why do it?! Especially when there are so many DC heroes that still have not been developed into films. And especially since Nolan's Batman films are some of the best comic book adaptations!

Footage from the new Captain America film! :D *full trailer is out tomorrow, I think?* Taken from SuperheroHype.com

It looked funny without a cut, haha. )

Some news about the new Spidey cartoon, which is going to air this year apparently!

I'd better finally get some Spidey and Human Torch team up stuff! )

And Akira! Or is it....?

The important stuff. )

My Beauty and the Beast DVD came over the weekend! :D Watched it, still love it. They cleaned up the DVD really well, better than the 2002 edition (which I didn't get, lol). Gaston is definitely more enjoyable now that I'm grown up, I really hated him as a kid. XD There was a lot of subtle stuff and background stuff that I never picked up on. Alan Menken's music for this movie still rocks my socks off.

BUT I NEED A BLURAY PLAYER SO I CAN GEEK OUT WATCHING THE EXTRAS! ;_; The DVD ain't got jack!

Casting spoiler for Avatar: The Legend of Korra!!! )

And some stuff for another movie that should not be made: Akira.

Whaaaa....ah forget it. )

Yes, they seem to want to keep making these until one of them turns a profit. XD There are actually quite a few manga/anime that would translate well to screen, and don't have anything specifically Japanese about them so they could be changed to be set in America. Full Metal Panic comes to mind, it's a very basic story that could work in any setting really. But they seem to want to make live action versions of manga/anime that have long story arcs, many characters and can't really be set outside of Japan. Maybe it's because those are the most popular?

Many gifs! )

I wish I had more gifs of Merlin. He does the best "bitch, please" faces ever. XD
