Okay, cos of work, I'm having to marathon J-Dramas on weekends now (which is why I'm so behind!), but there are some that shouldn't be marathoned.
Case in point: Maou.
Don't get me wrong, it was friggin' awesome!
But talk about emotional overload! All the crying, evil stares, twists you think you know are coming but then don't and the new twist makes you all OMGWTF1, Toma gorgeousness, occassional Tanaka gorgeousness, and the running! What does Toma run on?! XD Well, he did say Red Bull, but he should be careful! Too much of that stuff ain't good. And Leader! Little adorable slightly spacey Leader! He was so good! I'm glad that stupid "scandal" stuff didn't stop him from doing dramas. (His next one looks so damn funny!)
The ending though. Geez! And now I've got emotional overload headache! XD
Also, lookit:
(I hope it works this time!) It's the trailer for Crows Zero II! It looks really good, and I see Serizawa! Yay! I loved him in the last movie. I probably won't see it for at least 18 months after it comes out, but the first DVD came out with English subs so I'm hopeful for this movie too! Unlike HYD. GAH! I'm so annoyed that DVD isn't coming out with English subs! They had some pretty director's cut version with 30 mins extra to the movie! WHAT IF THERE'S FUNNY TSUKASA ENGLISH!? I WANNA SEE! ;_;
Haha, okay, rant over. :)

Date: 2008-12-14 08:28 pm (UTC)My Boss My Hero. Pure crack! XD The son of the current boss of a Yakuza gang won't be allowed to take over the gang unless he finishes high school. The problem is he's ten years older than the rest of his class and a lot dumber. (He even says at one point "I have the oldest face in the class", and I think he was including his teacher too!) It's mostly really funny, and the main actor pulls the most amusing faces one second and then looks totally hawtsome the next. http://wiki.d-addicts.com/My_Boss_My_Hero
Nobuta wo Produce. Words cannot express how much I love this drama. It starts off with a plot seen in a lot of teen centered movies/dramas. The popular guy and the dorky kid team up to "produce" a bullied girl and make her into one of the popular kids. On the surface it seems like an average plot, but the characters themselves are very unique. It's a moving drama, and one thing I liked about it was that the kids actually do act like teenagers, instead of wise mini adults. Plus Akira's one of the most adorable characters ever produced from a J-Drama. http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Nobuta_wo_Produce
Densha Otoko. Geek sees beautiful girl on the train. Girl gets harrassed and the geek saves her, sort of. And then the fun begins! Based on a true story, a geek tries to win the heart of a girl he thinks is out of his league by getting advice from people on a message board. I love this drama so much! I cried almost every episode, and I've never cheered on a main character as much as I did Densha. You will also have some internal damage as a result of laughter, for real. http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Densha_Otoko
Pride. The drama that will make you understand why Kimura Takuya has been voted Japan's sexiest man for the last 15 years! XD It's a drama based around a hockey team. The main girl character has been waiting for her boyfriend for the last two years, he moved abroad. In this whole time, he hasn't contacted her but she still waits for him. The main guy character spots this girl in a bar with her friends and she catches her interest. After hearing about her story, he tells her he'll be her stand-in boyfriend, since he only ever plays around anyway. But of course, they start to fall in love. The stories are all pretty cliché but the characters more than make up for it! http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Pride
Hanayome to Papa. THE CUTE! A story about Aiko and her extremely overprotective father. He's kinda psycho, but it's only because he loves her. He has a set of rules that he makes her abide by, even though she's started working. A curfew of 7.30pm, no communicating with the opposite sex, etc. I won't give anything else away, but it's the perfect balance of heart-warming cute and laugh out loud funny bits. Plus Junno from KAT-TUN looks quite nice in a suit! http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Hanayome_to_Papa
And last but certainly not least! Hana Yori Dango. This one is kind of a 50/50, people generally seem to either love it or tolerate it! XD Classic story of rich boy falls in love with poor girl, but with wonderfall characters, hot guys and amusing situations. The show that might make ya fall for either Matsumoto Jun or Oguri Shun. You also get to see Toma in one episode! http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Hana_Yori_Dango
Sorry, long! Take your pick, they're all awesome. :) But try and finish Nodame if you can, it's a really wonderful drama. I'm smiling for two weeks after I watch it every time!
