The real star of the show is Akira!

I finally managed to finish Nobuta wo Produce this morning!!
I loved it a lot, although it did start to wind down towards the end, but it didn't overstay it's welcome. Of course, the highlight of this show for me was Yamapi's character Akira, but I ended up being quite fond of Nobuta too.
MAN! Am I glad it didn't end up being a lovey dovey ending! Why? Because the way it was going, Nobuta looked like she was gonna end up with Shuuji. I have nothing against Shuuji, he was an interesting character, but dammit, I've had enough of the stoic serious characters getting the girl over the cute dorky slightly crazy characters! It was Akira or no one at all for me, haha, so I'm glad it ended up as neither. Plus, they could always meet again later in life and get married and have lots of dorky children! XD In my mind, that's how it ended up! I think Akira was right in giving up on his feelings for her, because he rightly saw that the way he was now, he couldn't be with her and have a healthy relationship. They both needed to grow up a bit and develop as people. Don't develop too much though Akira, cos you my friend are awesome.
The ending was very moving! I was quite sad that Shuuji had to move away just as he had found some real friends and started to show more of his real self. But, I thought it was very touching that Akira followed him (and arrived on a helicopter! "Like Bush!" according to one of his classmates!) to wherever it was that he moved. I loved even more that Nobuta told Akira to go as Shuuji "needed him more" than she did. ;_; Seriously, Nobuta's friggin' awesome.
More on Nobuta's awesomeness: she actually forgave that horrible girl that tried to make her life miserable. I know, the girl had issues and she really needed help. BUT I DON'T CARE! XD That probably makes me a horrible person, but I wouldn't have forgiven her. Even though Nobuta didn't want to at first, she did in the end, and I think that helped her grow as a person. Seriously though, Maki-chan plays all these girls with such awesome compassion and patience. I mean, Kurosagi! Her friend that totally to the word bitch to the next level, I WOULD HAVE SLAPPED HER! Gah! Nobuta's last lines made me cry buckets and buckets! I had managed not to cry the whole way through, and then she said it, and it was like GUTPUNCH! and I was crying twin waterfalls.
It was a very good drama, but it's probably not to everyone's tastes. Good if you're looking for a friendship drama. ;_; I know, I know, I still haven't finished Zettai Kareshi. I don't know if I ever will at this rate! I'm going to my friend's house tomorrow and we're gonna marathon Pride (lovely way to spend a day off work!) and then I'll start watching Attention Please!
Oooh, I watched the Crows Zero movie over the weekend. I will post a review of that later. But, it was really good!
