The stroke thingy is how I give my text outlines. You know how there's that "Layers" toolbar at the bottom? And every time you make new text, it shows up there with a big T next to it? At the bottom of that toolbar, there should be some buttons. One of them looks like a fancy f.

Click on that, and then options should come up. At the bottom, it should say "Stroke". Click on that, and then you'll get some options to play around with. If the "Preview" checkbox is ticked, you can see how it looks on the picture before you hit the OK button. I'd advise that you pick "Outside" for the top drop down menu thing, it makes it look nicer.
