Lol, it's always ranty when Spider-Man is concerned!
Okay, so Spidey has been cast (Andrew Garfield) and I was pretty much like YAY cos from what I've seen from him he's a good actor and he sounds really passionate about the role and all around good feelings. It also sounds like they're going to start from the proper beginning (except start in college instead of high school, cos Garfield looks too old to play a high school student) and have Gwen Stacy be the first girlfriend person (although that hasn't been confirmed). They've started testing actresses to play Gwen and from the looks of it Mary Jane too. And then I saw this...
"Glee's" Dianna Agron and Moon's Dominique McElligott are the latest two names to be added to the short list for the female lead in Marc Webb's 3D reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, says a report at Deadline, which also tosses in the out-of-left-field rumor that Phillip Seymour Hoffman may be up for the part of Venom. (Taken from Superhero Hype.com)

Two things. First, no Venom please. Spider-Man has a whole bunch of different villains, choose some of them! It didn't work out very well the last time! I dunno why, but I'd like to see Kraven in a movie...
Second, no Dianna Agron please. ;_; She's a cute girl, but she needs a bit more acting experience before doing a role like this. Gwen Stacy was before my time, and I imagine it wouldn't take very much to play her but if she is going to play Gwen that means she's going to be playing opposite Garfield most of the movie and dude is very good. But I could be wrong, I don't really know much about Gwen's character apart from what I've seen in the odd comic book. It also depends which type they're going for. Classic Gwen, Ultimate Spider-Man Gwen or Spectacular Spider-Man Gwen.
From the other choices (see here: http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/108115-dianna-agron-and-dominique-mcelligott-up-for-spider-man), Emma Stone would be an awesome MJ!
Okay, rant over. XD If this movie's half as good as Spectacular Spider-Man was, it'll be a damn good movie. ^_^
