gb23: (KCE: MAJI DE?!)

I've been away for a bit! XD I'll try and post when I have a bit more time.

BUT WHAT IS THIS I HEAR ABOUT BOY MEETS WORLD GETTING A SEQUEL WITH CORY AND TOPANGA'S DAUGHTER AS THE MAIN CHARACTER?!

I'm not sure how to feel about that to be honest. It could be really good. But, I doubt it will be allowed to be as realistic and meaningful as the original series was, especially the earlier seasons. TV execs don't seem to have much faith in their audience's intelligence, given what sitcoms they make for kids/teens these days. XD

WHAT?!

This premiered 20 years ago today. 20 YEARS AGO!

Seriously, how did they sneak this stuff in?! XD

While watching an episode of Johnny Bravo, these two scenes made me literally go:

Pics under the cut. Not edited in the slightest! )

All the Cartoon Cartoons of that era were like this though. Anyone remember that episode where Dexter hired that actress to play Dee Dee while she was gone? Even as a kid, that one scene made me go daaaaamn!

Oh Hollywood. Why do you do this to me? Yes, I am starting to feel like it's personal now.

A few days ago, a 15-second video emerged online. It shows producer Michael Bay standing before an audience in a suit, discussing his plans for a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman of Wrath of the Titans fame, with such a dearth of enthusiasm that you could quite easily mistake him for a printer toner spokesman at a regional office supplies conference.

In the video, Bay says: "Kids are going to believe one day that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable." Rest of the article here

My initial reaction...

The Internet's reaction...

The rest of my emotions, as ever, in GIF form. )

Stop ruining all my childhood stuff! IT'S NOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL STORY WAS CONFUSING IN THE FIRST PLACE!

This post has made me realise I really need a gif of Arnav going "What the f-" XD It's always so hilarious.

Hey Arnold season 1 came in the post! :D

I'm glad I waited for an official DVD release instead of getting that "burned onto a DVD-R for $30" Amazon version. :D

I apologise in advance for the random Hey Arnold (and Batman Beyond, which I'm also rewatching XD) posts that will now follow, as things I didn't get when I was a kid suddenly become very obvious. For example, Helga's mum being an alcoholic/suffering from depression. :(

I know the show's been over for about 5 years now, but still, SPOILER ALERT if you haven't watched Batman Beyond (Batman of the Future) or Justice League. It really ruins BB if you know this before watching it.

I believe my reaction when watching this the first time was this:

I don't know how they got that pass the censors! XD I'm about 35% done with my Batman Beyond rewatch. Man, I forgot how good this show was. And knowing what we know now, it makes you watch the whole thing in a different light. I really hope Young Justice gets to run for as long as they want it too, and even have spin-offs/continuations. What I miss most about the original DCAU cartoons is the long history the show got to establish. (The cartoons went on for about 13/14 years so it's not surprising) As a Nightwing fangirl since youth, I was sad we never got to find out what happened to him and that we never saw him interact with Terry.

Old man Bruce is such a sassmouth though, I love it. XD

This randomly got stuck in my head the other day, I'm so glad it was on YouTube cos I kept forgetting the lyrics. XD

I wish there was a full version. Of course, now I'm gonna watch the Hey Arnold! Christmas episode this year and bawl my eyes out. ;_;

Any guesses to what she said? I always thought she called them little f***ers. XD

Aww! :(

Damn...it's been 19 years since he first played The Joker, it's been a long time! *feels old* I don't think any actor will ever top him for this character, animated or live action. It's the end of an era! I feel a little like...

Holy crap!

Cartoon classic The Flintstones is set to return in a new version devised by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, Fox Television has confirmed.

The new series, likely to air in 2013, will give a "21st Century spin" to the 1960s Hanna-Barbera animated series.

We'll have to see how it goes. :)

Get ready to feel old and stuff! XD

This has been stuck in my head all week! XD It's what prompted this post in the first place.

Various Nicktoons and other 90s stuff over here! )

Okay, I think that's enough for tonight. XD Maybe I'll include some old Disney toons next time.

Stop taking my childhood and making it into movies! :(

WHY?! )

Sigh...

LOL, I didn't even have a tag for books! XD It's been such a long time since I've read a book for fun.

When did all this happen?! It seems this whole turn all our childhood cartoons, no matter how implausible, into live action movies trend is still going!

Cut for emotigifs. :P )
