I wasn't expecting to enjoy the Olympics as much as I did! I'm actually sad it's over. Unfortunately I didn't get to go to any of the events in person, but watching it on the TV was just as good, if not better in some cases. (The BBC had really good coverage of it) I'm usually not that into sport that isn't football, but there were a lot of moving and emotional moments. It was also nice to see that the crowd cheer and support a lot of athletes that weren't from the UK, something that I've never seen happen with England football fans. Usain Bolt was hilarious. XD

He's so happy, bless!

I actually enjoyed the Olympics too and I didn't mean to fall into it. I love Gabby Douglas. I think she is a class act. And Aly Raisman is from the Boston area. One of my co-workers who is from Rhode Island kept on providing New England commentary to her routines because she has that attitude I tried to describe before. And also, Gabby Douglas is from Virginia where I live now so it was kinda nice to have that bridge of the gap. Oh and I love Missy Franklin too. She's adorbs.

I liked watching the diving. And men's gymnastics. Not to sound petty but, the Russian girls on the gymnastics team I thought took it way too seriously and had bad sportsman attitudes. You switch to men's gymnastics and you can tell Dannell Leyva, Ngyuen, and Kohei Uchimura had respect for each other no matter what they placed. I thought Dannell saying he looked up to Uchimura as where he wanted to be in four years I thought was also very classy.

I didn't watch so much of the track and field though.

Gabby Douglas was amazing! I watched her through my fingers half the time, I was so worried she was gonna fall or something! She had quite a fan following here though, the crowd went nuts for her.

I missed most of the diving unfortunately, but I managed to catch Tom Daley winning Bronze! The poor kid's had a really rough year, I was so happy for him. They did a bit, it wasn't good. There was a Russian guy who threw a bit of a wobbly when he was pipped for gold in the gymnastics, I forgot which one. I think I was just so impressed with the way a lot of the athletes carried themselves. Lots of sportmanship, lots of "I'm just happy to be taking part" and proud of representing their country without coming off as we're the best. It's a nice change from football, where the only nice teams are the African teams, Japan and USA. (Although that's my personal opinion, lol)

The track and field was my favourite! A lot of the emotional moments happened there. The guy that won the 400m hurdles, Felix Sanchez, it was so awesome. Everyone had said he was too old to get the gold, and then he did and he was just so happy he couldn't stop crying. The BBC anchors were on the verge of tears as well! The crowds were amazing at the main stadium too, they were cheering everyone! The first girl from Saudia Arabia to compete for track and field ran in the 800m race, and obviously she wasn't as well trained as the other athletes so she was really behind everyone else, but as she was nearing the end, everyone stood on their feet for her and cheered her to the finish. The USA women's relay team was amazeballs too! They broke the world record and the last girl to run noticed it just as she was crossing the finish line and her reaction was hilarious!
