*looks at the last post*

Wow...it's kind of funny that my last post was about the new Star Trek film, given that any excitement I had towards it has been erased completely. :(

Hi! Everyone, I'm really sorry I haven't updated in forever and haven't really kept in touch either. Real life has become too real unfortunately. I think also my LJ was too fandom based, and I'm not into that many fandoms anymore, so that coupled with life just made it harder and harder to come on and post.

I think the best thing to do would be to put the LJ on an indefinite hiatus. :( If anyone needs to talk, message me! :D I'll try and do better and come on here more often.

See you guys soon!

Ararara....

The villain better not be Khan. He'd just better not be dammit.

Wait, how long have I been off LJ that the post entry thing is all new and so on? :S

In a sudden and bastardous twist, IPKKND will be ending this Friday. Yes, apparently they can end a show in a few days and not tell anyone.

Merlin is also ending this year. Although I was kinda feeling this one. I can feel that having a tragic end too.

Young Justice is on hiatus and Korra's not back til next year. Fandom hasn't been very kind of late. XD

But with IPKKND over, I will probably have more time to post here now. If anyone's still left? (Yes, it sadly did take up a lot of my free time. It's a daily show after all!)

Goodbye Barun Sobti. I shall miss seeing your handsome face 5 days a week. Here's hoping you have a good career, cos you're a good actor too!

;_; The show won't be the same anymore!!

We 90s kids are probably the most nostalgic generation ever. XD
gb23: (KCE: MAJI DE?!)

I've been away for a bit! XD I'll try and post when I have a bit more time.

BUT WHAT IS THIS I HEAR ABOUT BOY MEETS WORLD GETTING A SEQUEL WITH CORY AND TOPANGA'S DAUGHTER AS THE MAIN CHARACTER?!

I'm not sure how to feel about that to be honest. It could be really good. But, I doubt it will be allowed to be as realistic and meaningful as the original series was, especially the earlier seasons. TV execs don't seem to have much faith in their audience's intelligence, given what sitcoms they make for kids/teens these days. XD

Phase 2 is going to be dark, it seems. ;_;
gb23: (Avatar: Honor)

I haven't done a big post in ages! To be fair, I haven't had much to post about except IPKKND but now all my shows are back so let's get to it!

First, randomly, I watched Kaibutsu-kun. Ohno's an amazing actor. I've only seen him in Maou, but the complete contrast between the two characters and how he played them is amazing. He totally became those characters. And even though it was a children's drama (right?), all the actors were really into it. None of them scoffed at what they were doing, and I think that made it all the more enjoyable. It's not an OMG GO WATCH IT NOW type of drama, but if you're looking for a break from romance or dark dramas, then this is a good way to pass the time.

Spoilers for Castle and Merlin. )

And now onto Young Justice, or as someone so brilliantly put it on tumblr...

It's a lie that this is a kid's show. A BIG FAT LIE. )

This week's ep of YJ pretty much cemented why I've stopped watching so many live action American shows and I'm watching more American animated shows instead. Leaving out the animation (which is superb by the way), the writing, acting and continuity on this show is amazing and most US tv shows wish they had this kind of consistency. I know people might be put off cos it's about costumed superheroes (DC superheroes to boot), but it's one of the best action shows on TV at the moment.

As for IPKKND...

I'm pretty sure I won't be as happy for my married life as I am for theirs. XD

Well, it finally happened. All is finally forgiven Arnav Singh Raizada.

Well done, bro!

Castle is back! :D

Young Justice is back on Saturday! :D

Merlin will be back in a couple of weeks! (I heard) :D

All good things because IPKKND killed all my happy feels today. Sigh. This is your final exam, ASR. If you fail it, I don't care how hot you are, we are done! All my fangirl feels will go to NK instead!

I still can't find a copy of I Hate Luv Storys so I watched some other Bollywood films, and it's official. No actor can make me cry like Shahrukh Khan. ;_;

I saw this earlier:

and I seriously squealed from nerdy delight. (He was the voice of Yakko from Animaniacs)

Then I remembered he was supposed to be in The Legend of Korra so I went to find out what happened and it turns out he was supposed to voice adult Aang but then got replaced. :( I hope he voices someone in the new season cos he's my favourite!
gb23: (JL: Don't Touch!)

This film was friggin' awesome. And it had all the voice cast from the JL cartoon, plus Nathan Fillion as GL! It was a little weird hearing Michael Rosenbaum as Barry instead of Wally, but he made it work. Ahh, I wasn't expecting it to be this good and now I'm feeling like finishing my JL rewatch. I stopped halfway through season 2 to watch Batman of the Future. Which I also stopped halfway through season 2. XD

WHAT?!

Sep. 5th, 2012 10:43 pm

This premiered 20 years ago today. 20 YEARS AGO!

So apparently (cos The Avengers got all the money), a Justice League movie is in the works.

I feel very eh about it to be honest. It feels very rushed to me. Marvel took their time developing the characters and a new universe for them, so that comic book fans and non-comic book fans could enjoy them. Plus The Avengers roster was a lot more grounded that the JL would be. Thor was the most "out there" of the characters.

It'll have the new Superman (his film is out next year I think?), a rebooted Batman and then whoever's left over. Probably the current Green Lantern (which is a shame cos I love me some John Stewart) and Wonder Woman. The Flash will probably feature as well, and be Barry Allen instead of Wally West. I don't have much faith in them doing justice (no pun intended) to Wonder Woman though. She has all the potential to be so amazing! It's kind of a shame, DC actually has some amazing female characters!

I'm probably being too pessimistic, but I think the old Justice League cartoon, and to be honest the new Young Justice cartoon, has set the bar so high for how DC teams should work in non-print media that the film's going to fall short. I really hope they get some of the people who have worked on the cartoons and comics to help with the film. Cos that Gail Simone Wonder Woman animated movie that came out a while back? Amaaaaazing!

But I just finished watching Sora Kara Furu Ichioku No Hoshi and...

I guessed the twist halfway through but I didn't think they'd go through with it! This was a darker drama than I was anticipating. For some reason, I got this confused with the Beautiful Life drama that Kimura was in. XD

So now that I've seen dark Kimura, normal hero type Kimura and conflicted soul Kimura, I want to see an out and out comedic Kimura! From the P-Chan skits alone, I think he'd be really good at it!

...

Ah, I'm not going to sleep soundly tonight. XD

Okay, let's start with TDKR...

Spoilers, lots of 'em! )

And now Brave!

Once again, spoilers. )

I believe I won't be seeing any films in the cinema until The Hobbit comes out now. Unless by some miracle they release the Rurouni Kenshin film here!

- YOUNG JUSTICE IS BACK AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER, WOOOO!

- After having lots of little cousins over during the summer hols, I have unfortunately picked up a bad habit of speaking like Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time. (At least, I think that's her name?)

- I have seen The Dark Knight Rises, I will post properly about it on the weekend after I see Brave (finally!). I will say I enjoyed it a lot, but it didn't blow me away, which was a shame.

- I have a feeling IPKKND is about to get very intense, and not in the happy way. I will need to have some funny on standby.

- The Legend of Korra is apparently getting a movie, but don't worry, it's an animated feature!

- Ikuta Toma's getting a drama, yaaaaay!
gb23: (KCE: Yassai Mossai)

In random TV/fandom related news, it is apparently the season for re-watching as I'm in the mood to go back and watch some J-dramas! On the list is Long Vacation, My Boss My Hero and possibly Hanayome to Papa. I am feeling a Hana Yori Dango rewatch, mostly cos IPKKND is reminding me a lot of HYD at the mo but I'm worried that Arnav and Khushi have ruined all angry guy/spunky girl pairings for me with their outstanding chemistry. I guess it's cos you can feel the want from both sides, but in HYD (for me at least) it always came more from Tsukasa's side.

Speaking of IPKKND, I'm trying my level best to avoid spoilers for tonight's episode but the fandom has exploded this afternoon. I took one sneak peek, which was a big mistake cos I'm not at home and I'm on the verge of turning into this:

How am I supposed to be mad at you Arnav, when you keep doing.....that!

Olympics!

Aug. 13th, 2012 04:37 pm

I wasn't expecting to enjoy the Olympics as much as I did! I'm actually sad it's over. Unfortunately I didn't get to go to any of the events in person, but watching it on the TV was just as good, if not better in some cases. (The BBC had really good coverage of it) I'm usually not that into sport that isn't football, but there were a lot of moving and emotional moments. It was also nice to see that the crowd cheer and support a lot of athletes that weren't from the UK, something that I've never seen happen with England football fans. Usain Bolt was hilarious. XD

He's so happy, bless!
